We know how upset it is when you shatter your iPhone 5c. Fortunately, iPhone 5c is one of the easiest iPhone DIY repair models. Buy a DIY iPhone 5c screen replacement from the trusted supplier and go through the assembly steps below. You can search the tutorial on YouTube as well. There are lots of parts suppliers out there on Amazon and eBay. However, they are resellers and not professional. That is why you should pick a supplier that specialise in iPhone parts and willing to offer warranty of some kind. We highly recommend Cellphoneage whose phone parts quality and customer service just can’t be matched.
To begin your iPhone 5c replacement screen DIY, please prepare the tools. Usually tools like screw driver, pry tools and suction cup are provided along with the replacement screen assembly parts.
1. Power off your iPhone
Make sure you always remember to power your iPhone 5c off. Simply hold down on the Power button until you see Slide to Power off.
2. Remove the dock screws with Pentalobe Screw Driver
There are two screws that secure the screen to the bezel and they sit on each side of the dock connector. Remove the button screws using a pentalobe screw driver.
3. Remove the broken display
3. Remove the broken display
Place your suction cup above the home button and secure it to the screen. Holding the iPhone in place with one hand and gently pull upwards until you free the bottom of the screen. You should be able to raise up the screen and expose where the front assembly is connected to the logic board.
Remove the four screws of the shield that covers the display cables. Screws are different sizes so make sure you keep them organised you can remember for reassembly.
4. Reuse all the parts from the Old Display
Remove the next 2 screws that hold down the ear speaker and the front camera assembly. Also remove the small plastic washer underneath.
Using a case opener tool, carefully remove the front camera assembly. It's held in place by some adhesive. Remove these next few screws holding down the LCD shielding plate. Once the screws are removed, take the shield off and put it aside.
Now, we are ready to replace the old front screen assembly with a iPhone 5C LCD assembly.
Place the home button into the new assembly. Reinstall the home button ribbon over the home button. Don't forget to secure it by pressing on the end contacts where there is adhesive.
5. Reinstall the front camera assembly
Reinstall the front camera assembly, followed the picture above.
6. Reinstall the ear speaker
Attach the three tables on the new LCD screen to your iPhone 5c motherboard. Replace the display shield and the four screws your removed earlier. Lay down the display and snap it in place. Don’t ever force the display down. Make sure it’s lined up correctly and starting from the top, snap it in place gently.
Once your iPhone 5c is fully put back together, it is safe to turn it back and begin testing the new front assembly.
